Igor Postash
"If an artist does not put his soul into a painting, the work is dead, or in better cases, the artwork becomes just a decorative spot. Every image is alive to be talked to, to give advice, to be trusted, to tell your secrets and desires and to hear theirs. Such pictures heal people, give them hope and spiritual and mental relaxation. Paintings need the spirit of the aritst." So says Igor Postash.
Igor graduated from the Department of Geography at Kiev University with a degree in Geomorphy. He worked at a research institute in Kiev. It wasn't until the Chernobyl Nuclear Catastrophe that Igor was able to exercise his talent as an artist. After the effects of this disaster had turned his life upside down, Igor immigrated to Canada in 1995. His whimsical paintings bring a sense of humour and are a sign of hope to a sometimes darkened world. |
