Artis's Statement

My first encounter with art was at the age of 4 when I copied my name from a tag attached to one of my Christmas presents. From that point on, I wanted to become an artist and had a pencil in my hand drawing everything in my little world.

My passion was crushed by a negative experience at age 7 in which I decided to lay down my talents for 47 years. I feel I have a lifetime of painting to make up for. While my art is an expression of my experiences with nature, my desire is to create art that "brings you there" for you to create your own experience.

I have chosen the watercolor medium as the main platform in which to express myself. I also work in pastels and occasionally in oils. Each one of my paintings contains a very personal part of me - my experience of the place including the smells, sounds, and most importantly, the light and how it drew me in to capture that moment in time.

Please enjoy.
