Ken Li
Ken Li was born in China and completed an apprenticeship in jade carving in 1975. He also attended the Guangdong Arts and Crafts College and graduated in 1979. He worked in a jade factory as supervisor and also designed jewelery. Ken qualified as an art and craft technician which is the highest level designation in this field in China.
Upon moving to Canada in 1997, the subject matter of Ken's art changed as he was inspired by the wildlife of North America and by Inuit sculptors. His sculptures combine the ways of Inuit art, Chinese traditional art and Western sculpture, creating breath-taking images in stone. |
