Jim Vest   

Jim Vest attended the Sunderland College of Art in Durham, England. Jim taught art at Jasper Place Composite High School upon moving to Edmonton in 1970. Since 1980, he has concentrated on painting full time.

Although naturalistic representation plays an important role in his paintings, the pictorial aspect has become more internal and color more autonomous. His broad brush technique lends itself well to the quaint city scenes he captures. He does, however, enjoy painting the Alberta landscape as well.
