Linny Vine Paintings

I'm thrilled that my inspiration, the joy that I feel for our world's beauty, is felt through my paintings. To me, the visual world is a beautiful combination of colors, shapes and light swirling together in rhythmic patterns. Rather than doing any preliminary sketches, I take brush in hand and enjoy the freedom of spontaneously capturing my impressions of the light, color and feel of life.

I love the magic that happens as imagination and inspiration dance together while I paint.

Linny D. Vine's distinctive contemporary paintings are known for their joyful energy. Cherry blossoms in full bloom, warm curving paths that invite exploration, each building and tree alive with it's own special personality. The hour of day and the time of season both celebrated at their fullest and most colorful. Linny's inspiration is the visual world; it's beautiful rhythmic patterns of light and color as well as her intrigue in the discovery of unusual in the usual. She combines these inspirations with her richly imaginative narration to create paintings that dance with life and joy. These paintings celebrate life with all of its wonderful imperfection and character.

Linny was born in Saskatchewan, grew up in and around Vancouver, and has lived in Victoria since 1992. Linny's paintings are treasured in private collections across North America and abroad.
